Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)   Details

Unfortunately Dx conditions are not good enough to conduct this activity at the present time. International Nets will most likely resume in 2010. (We hope)

International NETS will resume in 2010.

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    Purpose

The purpose of a NET is to have fun, study 11 meter propagation, and see who can follow a precise schedule. Are you a REAL Dx Man ??

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    General Information

The KP NET costs nothing to participate. No QSL's to send, no money to spend at the post office or on QSL cards. It is open to all callers regardless of which group you belong.

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)   Every Sunday, there will be 2 Net locations

One in Europe, and one in the Western Hemisphere (North or South America, or West Indies). Each Net controller will be present on the frequency for 2 hours. The European controller begins at exactly 12:00 GMT, and closes the Net at 14:00 GMT. The controller in North America begins at 16:00 GMT, and closes at 18:00. The locations of the controllers will be posted on this site approximately 5 days in advance of the Net. Click the "Net Controllers" button to see who will control the next Nets.

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    How To Participate

It's very simple. Be present on the Net frequency at the correct time. When you hear the controller, just call him, and wait until you are confirmed. He will return a progressive number to confirm the contact. This progressive number serves as a contact "confirmation", and is not a progressive number for sending QSL. It is for your records only. Again, there is NO QSL to sendIf you don't have conditions directly to the Net controller, then try to "QSP" your call via another station that HAS CONDITIONS. QSP check-ins are permitted. If you have no conditions at all…… Hey… .That's radio.

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    Scoring

One point for each progressive number you receive. There are a possible 16 points for this Net period. The operator with the most points is the overall winner. The operator who has the most points for their country is the country winner (minimum of 3 points). The operator who has the most points for their continent (or area) is the area winner (minimum of 3 points).

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    Prizes

You can win 6 Million Dollars by playing the Florida Lottery. We would love to offer a cash prize but unfortunately, Knight Patrol is not as rich as the State of Florida. However, for this Net period, certificates of appreciation will be awarded to the winners, second place and third place participants in the following categories.

Overall winner, Area winner (North America, Europe, Pacific etc), and Country Winner. For more details, click "Current Scores" then "Last Net".

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)    KP Net History

The KP Group was the first Group to organize International Nets on the 11 Meter Band. Our first net was conducted in 1988. The most check-ins received in a single Net was 199 recorded by Peter Kp 2o3 in 1995.

Bullet Diamond.gif (591 bytes)   Tips and Tricks

1. Don't miss the first few Nets. If you do, it will be very hard to catch the others. Always try to maintain a perfect score from the beginning. This way, if you have one day of bad conditions, you will not be too far behind.

2. Use of the Internet is allowed to locate the net, and contact friends who may have conditions to the controller when you do not. Be reminded that you must make RADIO CONTACT (directly or indirectly) with the controller to be awarded one point for your check-in.

YES .. QSP check-ins ARE allowed.

But... You MUST be on the air. You CANNOT for example use the Internet to contact your buddy (who HAS conditions to the controller), and ask him to check you in, and then receive a check-in number,

That's cheating.
(we are a Radio Group, not an Internet Group)
